The manifestation at Naina Devi. The universe shakes; the Goddess comes eight-armed with a garland of heads; the gods shout — the *Guru's* victory. And the Guru half-closes his eyes: Crores of suns and moons astonished; the thirty-three gods sing praise; Brahma, Shiva and Hari, with Hanuman and Bhairav; conches sound; the gods then shout the Guru's victory. Seeing her form he rose there, half-closing his eyes. The Guru offered as *bhet*, with willing mind, the heads of a lakh and a quarter Sikhs. Thus did Kali appear in person — hear it, sants and all virtuous men. By this the Guru closed his eyes: he made a dwelling in the eyes. And so in the eyes of the Sikhs there is great radiance, a store of joy. [[Gurbilas Patshahi Dasvi]] (1751), author: Koer Singh Chapter 8, page 100, Ashok ed. [[Gurbilas]]
