⁣ When the Mother of the World *Goddess* took form in front of Guru Gobind Singh, he was extremely pleased. ⁣ He thought in his mind, 'where best in my body should I place her form? The purest place on the body is the eyes' - so that's where the Guru Gobind Singh, the Virtuous, placed the Goddess *and closed his eyes to hold that energy/form*.⁣ ⁣ ਪੰਥ ਅਗਾਰੀ ਟਿਕੈ ਨ ਕੋਊ । ⁣ *The Guru Thought* "No one will be able to stand in front of my Panth, I will instill in their eyes this piercing radiance *of the Goddess*. That Rehatvaan *keeper of the code* Singh and Sikh of mine will be able to destroy any enemy just by their *piercing* gaze. ⁣ By themselves they'll be able to fight against many Turks, this is the strength that I will bestow upon the Panth I started." So this is why the Guru closed his eyes when seeing the Goddess, to instill Her power into the eyes of his Singhs. ⁣ Gurpratap [[Suraj]] Prakash *1843*, author: the Great Poet Santokh Singh⁣ Rut 3, Chapter 12 ⁣ ![[eyes.jpg]]
