ਬਿਧੀ ਚੰਦ ਛੀਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਸੀਨਾ
This famous phrase was said by Guru Hargobind when Bidhi Chand returned approving stealing back two fine horses from Shah Jahan's fort. Below is the praise levied on Bidhi Chand by Guru Hargobind:
ਬਿਧੀ ਚੰਦ ਛੀਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਸੀਨਾ । ਸਦਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੇ ਰਸ ਮਹਿ ਭੀਨਾ । ਸਰਬ ਬਿਕਾਰਨ ਤੇ ਉਰ ਹੀਨਾ । ਹਮਰੇ ਉਰ ਅਨੰਦ ਕੋ ਦੀਨਾ ।੨੦।
"Bidhi Chand Chheena is the strength* of the Guru, who is forever imbued with the Guru's spirit. His heart is totally devoid of any shortcomings, from my heart I give him bliss.
ਦੁਸ਼ਕਰ ਕਾਜ ਸੁਗਮ ਕਰਿ ਲੀਨਾ । ਗੁਰੂ ਸੇਵ ਮਹਿ ਸੁਮਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨਾ । ਇਸਕੇ ਸਮਸਰ ਅਪਰ ਨ ਚੀਨਾ । ਸਭਿ ਕੋ ਮਨ ਬਿਸਮਾਵਨ ਕੀਨਾ ।੨੧।
He can complete the most difficult task with the simplest of ease, with great intellect he serves the Guru, in this regard there is no other like him, he constantly amazes everyone!
ਕਹੈ ਕਹਾਂ ਲਗਿ ਤੋਹਿ ਬਡਾਈ । ਅਤਿ ਚਾਤੁਰਤਾ ਚਿਤ ਉਪਜਾਈ । ਛਲੇ ਸ਼ਾਹੁ ਜੁਤਿ ਤੁਰਕ ਘਨੇਰੇ । ਅਚਰਜ ਚਲਿਤ ਲਖੇ ਨਹਿ ਤੇਰੇ ।੨੨।
How far can I continue to Praise Bidhi Chand? With such a blazing intellect he has deceived the Emperor and many Turks, no one can comprehend your genius"
*Note* *Seena*, while literally meaning chest or heart, here can denote strength, valour, virility, because this term was used as a symbol of masculine strength. Cheena was Bidhi Chand's clan.
