The Great Poet Santokh Singh outlines below the daily routine of Guru Hargobind Sahib, where upon waking up and partaking in his morning routine, the Guru after visiting his mother and the congregation would: For roughly fourty-five minutes (Guru Hargobind Sahib) napped before waking up; His eyes opening like a lotus flower opening for the sun. Then consuming cannabis the Guru got ready, mounting a horse he looked out (ride out) in the distance. Partaking in play of hunting (the Guru's) entire body was gloriously with weapons. (After hunting) the Guru would arrive at the Akal Takht, where the Court commenced; the attendees all starring at the Guru were mesmerized. The singing of the Sodar shabad was listened to and as more congregation arrived they viewed the Guru's beauty. Following this the Guru would return to his residence, partaking in countless delectable cuisine. Taking rest around 10pm, waking at 3am the Guru bathed. In this manner the Guru conducted his daily routine.
