A Perspective Pointing Towards Virtue (ਗੁਣ ਗ੍ਰਹਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਤੀ) Bhai Gurdas describes the concept of orienting one's perspective towards virtue (ਗੁਣ) as opposed to reenforcing the pull to see faults in others. Like appreciating the beauty in all the limbs of a peacock, their eyes, calls, wings, but not thinking how ugly their feet are. Like appreciating intense fragrance of sandalwood, the tenderness of a lotus flower, but not keeping in mind or seeing their faults (the potential snakes around the sandalwood or thorns around the lotus) Like a mango fruit, full of sweetness and other delights, the unpleasant bitterness of its pit is not thought of. Likewise, from everyone request and receive the wisdom of the Guru, salute everyone's essence, forgo all slander.
