ਖਾਂਡ ਖਾਂਡ ਕਹੈ ਜਿਹਬਾ ਨ ਸ੍ਵਾਦ ਮੀਠੋ ਆਵੈ ਅਗਨਿ ਅਗਨਿ ਕਹੈ ਸੀਤ ਨ ਬਿਨਾਸ ਹੈ ॥
By just saying, "Sugar! Sugar!" one's tongue does not experience sweetness, by just saying "Heat! Heat!" one does not rid themselves of the cold. .
ਬੈਦ ਬੈਦ ਕਹੈ ਰੋਗ ਮਿਟਤ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਕੋ ਦਰਬ ਦਰਬ ਕਹੈ ਕੋਊ ਦਰਬਹਿ ਨ ਬਿਲਾਸ ਹੈ ॥
By just saying, "Doctor! Doctor!", one's disease is never removed, by just saying, "Wealth! Wealth!", one does not enjoy the pleasures of wealth. .
ਚੰਦਨ ਚੰਦਨ ਕਹਤ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੈ ਨ ਸੁਬਾਸ ਬਾਸੁ ਚੰਦੁ ਚੰਦੁ ਕਹੈ ਉਜਿਆਰੋ ਨ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸ ਹੈ ॥
By just saying, "Perfume! Perfume!", the beautiful fragrances do not arise, and just by saying, "Moon! Moon!", one does not experience the radiance of light. .

ਤੈਸੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਗੋਸਟਿ ਕਹਤ ਨ ਰਹਤ ਪਾਵੈ ਕਰਨੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਭਾਨ ਉਦਤਿ ਅਕਾਸ ਹੈ ॥437॥
In the same way, by just having conversations about wisdom one's discipline is not formed; Practice is Supreme, and through it, like the sun rises to the highest point of the sky, wisdom emerges forth into the highest realms of the Self.
