Within the Dasam Guru Granth Sahib manuscript at Patna Sahib, which is associated with Baba Deep Singh*, one finds the Bhagauti Astotar ਭਗੌਤੀ ਅਸਤੋਤ੍ਰ composition entitled as: The 'Praise of the Sri Sahib' ਸ੍ਰੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ. Colloquially in the Sikh world the term 'Sri Sahib' refers to the Sword - which holds true when reading the text, to see a translation of this text see: [[Bhagauti Astotar Translation]] This composition is found beginning the Battle Sections (judh prabandh) of Guru Gobind Singh's reworking of the Dasam Skandh (tenth canto) of the Bhagavata Purana. *This manuscript also includes a 1698 date of completion within the table of contents - but some believe Baba Deep Singh scribed the text at a later date* ![[bhagauti astotar.jpg]]
