# Navin Panth Prakash *1880 · Giani Gian Singh* Written in 1880 by Giani Gian Singh, this Brajbhasha text is a reworking of Ratan Singh Bhangu's earlier *Panth Prakash* (~1809). Giani Gian Singh states his goal was to narrate the community's coming-into-being while properly including the stories of the Malwa Sikhs, whom he felt Bhangu had excluded. He also aimed to make the telling more poetically enjoyable, criticizing Bhangu's text as lacking poetic sophistication.
