# Sikhan Di Bhagatmala *18th century · attributed to Bhai Mani Singh Shahid (or Bhai Surat Singh)* Sikhān Dī Bhagatmālā is a text attributed to Bhai Mani Singh Shahid, gathering the stories of Sikhs from Guru Nanak to Guru Gobind Singh. Scholars place it broadly in the 18th century, with proposed dates of completion ranging from 1707 to as late as 1780. Bhai Vir Singh associated it with Mani Singh, while more recent scholars point to 19th-century evidence attributing the authorship to Bhai Surat Singh of the Giānīā Bungā in Amritsar — father of the renowned Bhai Sant Singh Giani. Rattan Singh Jaggi argues it was written between 1707 and 1734 — suggesting Mani Singh recited the stories and Surat Singh later wrote them down — while S. S. Padam places the writing in the last quarter of the 18th century.
